MCE: Business over Breakfast
Maghull Community Enterprise (MCE) aims to support local business and enterprise through its monthly Business over Breakfast meeting. The meeting is held on the last Thursday of the month, 7.30-9.00am, at the Meadows Leisure Centre. The meeting is open to all local businesses, self-employed contractors and entrepreneurs and is free of charge. It is an opportunity for local businesses to come together, share ideas, and discuss topical issues which will impact them.
Diana Tuohy, Community Development Co-ordinator at MCE explained;
"We want to build a friendly business community for encouragement, support and advice for Maghull businesses, big and small. The forum will act as a platform for local business to raise their profile and a networking organisation for members to refer business opportunities to each other."
Patrick McKinley, co- founder of Maghull Community Enterprise said;
"One of our key target areas will be to work with businesses in Central Square to support much needed improvements. Town centres and independent traders are being hit by reductions in disposable income due to austerity and the ongoing growth of internet shopping. I have recently led a cross Sefton regeneration working group looking at good practice in town centre development and we will be using the results from this work to explore local solutions. We will continue to develop working relationships with the owners of Central Square and work with them to regenerate the Square as soon as possible."
