Maghull Radio is Maghull’s first and only online radio station, bringing a wide range of shows to the local community. Our programmes, features and talk shows include input from community groups like the Scout Association and fascinating community champions, what’s on guides for families, insights into local history and young people’s issues.
All of this is regularly interspersed with great tunes. From shows that play Disney hits or funk and jazz, to well-loved classics and current chart hits, reminiscing about decades past and sing-a-long songs from the musicals – there’s something for everyone.
We were set up under Maghull Community Enterprise with money from The Portas Fund, a scheme to regenerate town and neighbourhood centres. The funding was obtained by Sefton Council and bid for by Maghull Community Enterprise. Maghull Town Council provided space at the town hall for conversion into a radio studio. The Maghull Radio team planned, developed and now run the station, which began broadcasting on 17th February 2014.
Since our launch we have continued to develop our radio team and programmes. We are completely community focused and driven. We feature local presenters and local content promoting Maghull and its thriving neighbourhood. We now have more than 30 team members, representative of all walks-of-life, from across the local area. There’s always plenty to do, so volunteers are always welcome, and we offer full training. If you’d like to get involved, feel free to get in touch here!
Maghull Radio is a voice for Maghull. “Your Station. Your Community.”
